WEEK 1

AUGUST 24, 2017

Though the emotions are still raw and the tears are still being shed, we truly know God has us on this journey for a specific reason. This has truly been one of the toughest weeks of my life. The only other that I can recall would be when they took my wife back for brain surgery in May of 2015 after she had suffered injuries from a car accident.

However, this blog is meant to allow everyone I come in contact to know my journey with Christ and Cancer. When I first got the diagnoses that I had cancer, I was in the recovery room at Springhill hospital. I had just finished having a colonoscopy, mind you I'm also half naked in hospital gown which is a whole other disturbing subject!! The GI doctor rounds the corner and comes in and says we need to talk I found some things that are concerning, and I would like to call your wife and mother back to discuss. Well, as soon as Kelly rounded the corner she could see on my face that something was wrong, and she began to get emotional as the doctor went on to explain his findings. It wasn't until a couple of days and a few tests later that we knew what we would be dealing with... Come to find out I have a rare form of colorectal cancer and my tumor is much larger than they normally find, 12cm to be exact. However, if you have ever met me or know me, you know I don't do anything small "Go big or go home!"  We are currently in the process of searching for doctors, surgeons, radiologists, and oncologists. God has already moved mountains and placed some pretty spectacular people in our lives who are high up in the medical field and have many connections to the people we are searching for.

I want to thank you for praying for me and my family. I look forward to sharing this journey with you!
