SCAN-dalous 11.06-11.10.17

Monday 11/06/17

We have arrived at the hospital and getting ready for the endoscopy Scan. Once I got to the back with the nurses and doctor, He said since we are in there we are going to go ahead and do a colonoscopy and the endoscopy on you! So I was like pucker up buttercup lol... over all it isn’t a terrible experience the worse thing for me is the absolute filth the make you drink to literally wreck your body and end up having a new best friend made of porcelain.

They did the scans and the doctor came in to discuss them with us. Overall he was pleased with how the tumor was reacting, but not so much with the lymph nodes. They actually also removed a polyp that they didn’t see last time. So we will make a game plan with the oncologist on Wednesday!

 Wednesday 11/08/17

Good morning everyone!

We are up bright and early this morning... We went to see our oncologist this morning and he reviewed the scans (colonoscopy and endoscopy) and came to the same conclusion... So we have decided to go in a different direction as far as treatment. So no pump Chemo again today! PTL Starting next Wednesday I will be on chemo in the pill format and going to radiation 5 days a week.

This is due to the lymphatic system not really responding to the other form of chemo, however they were pleased at how the tumor was responding. We will meet the radiation oncologist on Thursday!

Thursday 11/09/17

We had a great and informative meeting the the radiation oncologist. He was very instightful and also very proactive in how they are going to treat me. We felt very encouraged by this meeting and are looking forward to working with this great team during my weekly treatments.

So thankful for all the people and physicians God has placed in our path on this journey. One of the nurses at the hospital when I was having my scan said to me, you have the best doctors available in Mobile she said they’re all at different hospitals but they are by far the best. So I shared with her how God orchestrated everything and used dear friends and colleagues to make all of this happen!

Friday 11/10/11

Good morning, I’m at Mobile Infirmary early this morning to have my first scan for the radiation treatment. This scan is for them to compare to all the other scans I have had. They will lay this one on top of them and graph out exactly and precisely how and where they will treat!

So for now that’s all! Talk to you soon and remember we love you all so much and are so greatful for you.
